We have two classrooms at our school with Moderate-Severe Autism. Each student has different sensory needs, some kids have gross motor needs while others need a more calming environment. We have a room that is available to our students as a Sensory Room. Our hope is to break this room up into sections to help meet each students need to help self regulate their bodies so they are able to come back to the classroom and learn. Our big wish is to have a quiet corner, where we can have soothing lights, music, and hands on materials to students to sit and calm their bodies. The bubble tubes will be mounted to the wall so they are able to sit in the pea pod chair and enjoy watching the lights and bubbles. At this time our sensory room has very limited materials and supplies to help our students. These materials will help all the different needs our students have in our classrooms.
