I teach a lively group of Kindergarteners in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland. Each year, almost all of my students speak Spanish or Mam (Guatemalan indigenous language) as their first language. Many come to my classroom straight from Central America. Each year, all learn to love reading, art centers, recess, and ice cream. Because our school is in a lower-income area of Oakland, we often don't have the funding to purchase the games, centers, or reading materials that Kindergarteners learn the most from. Most resources I make myself or print from the Internet (especially books). Please donate to our classroom to help my students continue to grow and love learning!
