Wobble Stools are a tool that replaces the traditional chair in a classroom. It does not take up extra space, or create additional work or time. Wobble stools provide our students with a seating option that improves posture, builds balance, and allows for freedom of movement. With a full class of 6/7-year-olds, 30 in the morning and 30 more in the afternoon, we quickly run out of space to wiggle and expend our energy. We've utilized exercise balls and yoga balls, seat cushions, and other tactics, but I believe that by implementing wobble stools, it will give my students an additional option without taking up more space or creating a distraction. Students will be able to use wobble stools during all aspects of our day... language arts, math, centers, independent work and group work. They are not subject specific and I will be able to utilize them with both groups of students in my Dual Language Immersion class.
