I know I can be a bit biased, but my school and students are the absolute best. I teach primary special education at a school that dreams big. 85% of my school is low-income, but yet we continue to meet annual yearly progress each and every year. My school is not about the numbers though, it is about the students, the families, and the staff that makes us a community. My students are some of the most resilient hard-working kids I have ever had the pleasure to teach. School does not come naturally to most of them because of their learning disabilities, but quitting is never an option. My students love to learn, play games, dance, and sing. We work on reading and math as a group, but we also work on our own personal life skills. Our individual life skills range from focusing to organization, and my students are always the first to point out if I am slacking on my life skill of staying organized! My goal is to teach my students to reach their goals in and out of the classroom!
