This project will greatly help me plan in the area of guided reading. When we were kids, we sat in a circle and took turns reading aloud, one paragraph at a time. We were also assessed mostly on if we were able to read the words on the page; not necessarily on if we could answer questions about the text or think beyond the text. Well....the times, they are a changin'! Kids today need to be able to read the words on the page, answer oral comprehension questions and write about what they read. This project will provide me the variety of leveled books I need to set my students up for success in the area of guided reading.

About my class
