During work time I play kid friendly songs and students are focused as well as singing along. Currently, I do not have the technology to support and integrate music more into the classroom. I want to expose them to the text I often hear them sing. I feel having four iPods with headphones will give my students the much needed opportunity to build their vocabulary, spelling, increase reading fluency by multiple exposure to words, and strengthen their main idea skills (i.e. what does the author of this song want you to learn?) through the use of printed lyrics that go with the song they are listening to.
