Unfortunately, most of my students come from low income homes and therefore have not been exposed to reading foundations such as leveled readers. Leveled readers will allow my students to feel success in literacy. They will have the opportunity to be in charge of their own reading goals and the ability to build language skills by advancing to higher level texts. Along with the readers my students will need organization for all of their books. I would love to give each student a book bin to keep, not only their readers neat but also books they check out from our class and school libraries.
