My students are constantly creating. Anything they get their hands on, they are making something with it. I want to maximize on their talents and allow them to construct what we're learning in a variety of ways. While we begin to understand matter and the particles of our universe, students will get to know the filaments that make up the pen. They'll be able to create manipulative's to visualize our math concepts, create sculptures as reactions to social justice investigations/research, and give students the opportunity to experience new technology in art. For example, students have been obsessed with paper building and origami. I can take these skills further by allowing them to explore the concept of balancing these paper creations on top of 3-d structures, and bringing them together. However, the students would be creating a structure as an invention to produce better outcomes for plastic water bottle recycling during our Roles of Water unit. They will be able to see how fractions, physics, and real-life concepts connect, and could potentially change one corner of the world. These masterminds deserve a 3-Doodler !
