The funds received will be used only for the materials/ingredients the class will use. Our materials will be flour, locally organic grown whole grain. The Chef we are working with will provide all the materials and the expertise in baking. She is asking for $500 for all the supplies needed. Thankfully she is donating her time and the use of a kitchen. We will be working with a chef that comes from the gourmet food world. She has spent the last several years working tirelessly to bring light to sustainable heritage grains. She will provide us with a commercial kitchen and expertise in baking. The products of this project will be bread and energy bars to give to the local homeless shelters. We have a six week plan that will lead students through the history of bread baking and sustainable farming of nutritional grains. Students will know how to make bread and deliver it to those in need. We are seeking funds to pay for the baking supplies such as locally grown wheat from Tuality Plains Great Grains.
