Our children are enrolled in a low-income elementary school in Louisiana, and my class in particular is a preschool early intervention class that includes both regular and special 3 to 5 year olds. Many of these children, due to background and/or exceptionality, have experienced frustrations of one sort or another in their early lives, and are in great need of educational strategies that build self-confidence and a love of school. They are at that perfect age to nurture an interest in reading through activities that make them feel not only capable in the classroom but even in a position to play teacher and actually 'read' to their classmates..

About my class
