Our public school was built in 1967 and is located in one of the top 20 largest cities in the U.S. The school has made very good academic progress and has been recognized nationally for its success. Recently classified as a 'School of Distinction and High Growth'. Our 2,100 student body is very diverse consisting of about whites, blacks, Hispanics and about 100 other students from a broad range of countries and cultures. Many of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Our students take great pride in their school, its sports, and its activities. The students enjoy working together on community and international service projects and enjoy seeing their friends and themselves on the daily School News Show. A TriCaster 'Green Screen' system was purchased and this has really improved our TV News broadcast. Our 20+ year old cameras are the only thing holding us back. New cameras would help tremendously.
