I want to build a comfortable and welcoming environment for my students. My students need more flexible/comfortable seating options to enhance student engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. Students will use this seating throughout the day in groups and during independent work. The seating I would like to provide includes wobble cushions, stools, balance balls, and comfortable chairs. All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. This project also includes clipboards and bins for students to take independent reading books and other learning materials with them while they work in flexible seats. I tried a few of these seating options this school year, and my students loved it. I would love for my students to have more choice, feel at home, and stay engaged throughout the day!
