These flexible seating options are going to make a huge difference in my students' learning. I have observed through many years of teaching that my students are constantly moving in their seats and needing to find a different position to sit in. I have even had a few students write me a persuasive essay on why we should have flexible seating. They felt that they would be better able to learn because they would have a choice in what is comfortable for them. Some of my students beg me daily to sit on the floor and work, but need a comfortable item to sit on. My students deserve to have things that they think will make them successful. I am game for what they desire if it is something they are passionate about. I have spent some time observing another teacher in my building that uses flexible seating, and her kids are successful and show more focus throughout the day. We can't expect kids to sit still, so lets give them options to help them focus on their learning. That being said, your gracious donation will help me purchase a variety of seating options for my students. Wobble Stools for those kids that like to move while they work, pillows so students can sit on the floor at a lowered desk, some exercise ball chairs, and finally a 2 fitness wobble boards for kids to stand at a raised table and work.
