Raise your hand if you've ever fallen asleep in class as a student! I'm sure the vast majority of the population would have to reluctantly raise their hand to that one. That's what I'm trying to prevent in my classroom. I teach in a very low-income neighborhood in urban California, at a charter school whose mission is to send 100% of all students to college.
