Finding literature that is high quality while still engaging can be difficult to do, especially with a group of students that is made up of 20 young men. Boys can be reluctant to read and this is true in my classroom. "Ungifted" is a humorous story that allows students to see different points of view. It will not only appeal to my male students, but the female students will laugh right along. Even more importantly, "Ungifted" allows students to see that labels are not all we are destined to be! We are more than they words people use to describe us! This book offers a funny backdrop with a message that will speak to students.
