We are requesting tools for our robotics class. This is an upstart program for our school, so as you can see we are starting from scratch. In all, we need a sander, drill, hacksaw, PVC cutter, drill bits, and other items in order to make our robot for competition. Our robots are made out of a combination of metal, plastic, and wood. Because of this all of these supplies are needed. This project is important because it will provide our kids with real-world skills. For students who go to college, this will show them practical uses for technology. For those who go directly to work, using these tools could help them learn skills for a trade. All of this equipment will be used by my students in order for them to create their robot. Since we live in rural Alabama, there are very few opportunities for our students. Robotics was created to give our students real-life skills and to provide them with a positive outlet. Along with this, it creates a strong extracurricular activity for students who may not be musically or athletically talented.
