My position is somewhat unique as it changes year to year based on the needs of our students, I am a General Interventionist. I currently teach 3rd grade Math, 1st grade Reading and Kindergarten Reading and help out in 5th grade Science/Social Studies Whew! The classroom that I share with another teacher is bare bones! :) This is only the 2nd year that I have been in this position and I have spent a lot of my own money of the necessities. The students that I work with are awesome, although they face many barriers. They come from an economically disadvantaged side of town, most come from poverty stricken (our school district as a whole, which includes 12 schools is 50% economically disadvantaged) homes. They come in to school where we are their safe haven and school family and would like to make my classroom feel more "homey" for them.
