I teach students with special needs in grades 6,7, and 8. During their normal reading class, I pull a group of 4-6 students to the back of the classroom to work on specific skills that will allow their reading skills to develop and grow. My students come from a high-need community and are at a high risk for dropping out of high school. Because I work with students with special needs, I move between three different classrooms and I am only given a small space to work within. The students are in need of visual ways of comprehending the material, yet we are limited to an overhead projector.
