These materials would impact my students tremendously. Daily, we work together on everyday living skills that enable my young people to be as independent and capable as they can be. Aside from working on typical educational subjects, my students practice job skills, daily living skills and volunteer within the community. The materials listed in this project are going directly towards work task boxes so that my students can practice a range of applicable daily living skills within the classroom. Students are working on job skills such as completing simple resumes, rolling silverware, organizing supplies, fulfilling customer orders, counting money, and calculating exact change. Students will also be working on a range of mathematical skills, as well as practicing spelling and reading skills to maintain their individual abilities and improve on those as well. These task boxes are critical in providing my students with independent learning opportunities that enable them to practice the group skills we work on within class daily. Our school does so much to support our students already. However, we are in desperate need for these materials as we do not have a tex book or set curriculum that we can use. Everything that my students work with in the classroom is pulled from previously purchased materials, dated curriculum textbooks, or materials that I create or purchase myself. Please consider donating so that my students can have the materials they need to practice the skills that will help them be successful for the future!
