Third grade is a pivotal year in which students start to publish their writing using technology. These students are also expected to research information to create informational essays and science reports. Students in our school also have access to online programs for independent reading and math practice at their own level. We are fortunate to have Chromebooks at our school, however they are shared between multiple classes and grade levels. This mean our opportunities for utilizing technology in the classroom are limited. It is our goal to put technology into the hands of our students as much as possible throughout the school year. Basic computer skills are important to learn for life readiness, as well as for state standardized testing. Spending more time with technology in the classroom means students will feel more comfortable when asked to use it, as well as be able to express their creativity in new ways.
