We are fortunate that the art program here at our charter school still exists. My students are thankful for the opportunity to express themselves through visual art. Most all students here are emerging readers of English. We are a school in a high poverty area of one of the United States largest cities. Due to the level of poverty we provide all art supplies to students. Because of this, books are scarce in the art studio.
