The goal of my project is to create a sensory room in order to meet the sensory and emotional needs of my students. My students need a safe space where they can let out their frustrations and regain their focus. This includes a sensory swing, squeeze machine, weighted vests, and hopper balls. This will meet the needs of the students who are seeking deep pressure throughout the day. Additionally, the students will experience calming visual and auditory sensations while viewing lava lamps In this room, students will experience and develop body awareness through a variety of means. A sensory room would allow for the Autism program to grow and succeed.
