By donating to our project, you will aid me in my mission to instill a love of reading and learning in my students. My students recently expressed a desire to read the book Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book One: The Lightning Thief, but admitted that they have never felt confident enough to tackle it on their own. With this admission in mind, I prepared a greek mythology unit, which has allowed my students to develop their background knowledge of various greek myths and gods. As we approach the end of this unit, my students are more than prepared to dive into a reading experience they never believed was possible.
