Having these seating options in my classroom will help my students have a sense of independence, feel comfortable, burn some energy and add a little fun to their day. This will encourage them to be more creative and they will be more likely to participate in classroom activities. The bouncy bands, for example, will help them get the wiggles out while continuing to focus on the task at hand. Since the bouncy bands are attached underneath the desk, students are less likely to distract others while wiggling and bouncing. I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed. I think that having different seating options such as stools and balance balls is one way to ensure their success!
