What child doesn't need movement? Often, when students' movements are restricted, their behavior becomes disruptive. Constant interruptions eventually take a toll on their learning & other learners as well. My purpose for this project is to eliminate such interruptions by providing students with flexible seating, thus providing a better learning environment for all students. The project I would like to implement is called Rocking and Rolling in First Grade. My desire is to purchase stability ball chairs that will replace most traditional chairs in my classroom. Stability ball chairs have been correlated to an increase in student attention, improved learning, and the creation of a calm environment, all without the demand of sitting still; therefore, active students will be provided an opportunity to move in a controlled environment.
