Music students at Baldwin Elementary develop their musicianship skills by reading and writing music, learning new rhythmic and melodic elements. They also spend time composing their own songs, improvising music, and playing instruments. Students at Baldwin are motivated learners who are eager to practice and are always excited to learn new musical elements and techniques. Students receive six years of music education at Baldwin, so projects funded for my classroom will benefit approximately 750 students every year for six years. Music class is an important element of a student's education as students practice social skills, practicing habits, and receiving and giving constructive criticism. Students who might not be successful in other academic areas can find success in music class. They also can take risks and be expressive in a judgement-free zone. Thanks for considering donating to my school's program.
