I have a goal of getting music around campfires! What better way than teaching kids how to play the ukulele? I'd like to start teaching my students as young as 9 to play the ukulele and prepare them to learn guitar. Guitar class is offered at both our middle school and high school. The four-stringed baritone ukulele is a perfect instrument to start the younger students with as it has a smaller neck for small hands and only four strings instead of the six of guitars. The students are very anxious to learn and I'd like to give them the skills they would need to actually play songs in their everyday life. Our 6th graders even have a goal of learning song to play at their big sleep away field trip.
