My students need extra support to succeed with the Math Curriculum. While they understand the processes needed for Pre Algebra, they sometimes struggle with the computation facts needed to correctly answer these math problems. Being able to use a calculator leads to less frustration, and more time focusing on the concepts being taught. Calculators can give students with disabilities access to exploring higher-level math concepts. Pre Algebra is more than just "getting the right answer". It is more about the process needed to get there. By learning to use calculators effectively, these students can focus their efforts on the math concepts, rather than struggling to perform computations.
