We have 25 new ipad airs but staff and students alike are weary of using them because they do not want to be responsible for breaking them. I have used the ipads on a couple of occasions but the students focus heavily on being careful which distracts from their creativity and engagement. I have had to go to the lengths of assigning a ipad student in each group where their sole responsibility was to handle the ipad. If cases were on the ipads I am sure that students and staff would be more comfortable in using these classroom tools. Especially in a subject like math where students already have a hard time relating and finding relevance, this will help make math relevant and engaging.
