I am asking for three items in order for my students to get a lifetime experience of the lifecycle of a butterfly. The first and foremost important item is the butterfly kit. The butterfly kit includes the larve, food, containers, and everything needed for those tiny fuzzy caterpillars to turn into beautiful butterflies. This will allow my students to physically see each stage of the butterfly's lifecycle making the experience more meaningful. They will also experience how long it takes a caterpillar to turn into a beautiful butterfly, making them more aware of their surroundings. The second item is the beautiful poster of all the different types of butterflies. Students will learn that there is more than one kind and what differentiates each kind of butterfly. The third item is the butterfly reading set. Students will gain lots of important information from the text. I will also use these books to ask questions and work on comprehension skills. In addition, the pictures in the books will be very beneficial to my struggling readers. With that being said, the books will teach students about each stage of the life cycle, preparing students to know what to expect during each individual stage. I cannot wait until I see my kiddos squeal with joy as they see the complete lifecycle of a butterfly!
