My biggest passion as a teacher is fostering a true love of reading in my students. As early readers, it is so important to have a variety of great literature available to students that they are actually interested in. Reading is magical in that it can take us to another place and time. The world is such a beautiful place and I want to share it with my students. Reading books about diverse cultures encourages thoughtful discussions about the unique experiences of people around the world. It is crucial to educate our students about inspiring people who change the world through kindness and peace. These stories in these books will serve as great read alouds for the whole class as well as fabulous independent practice during read to self time. My students will be able to continue to build their fluency as they read books they find interesting and enjoy!
