My students need to move a lot during the day. They are 5 and 6! :-) My students will learn their sight words by reading them while exercising. My students will use yoga to calm themselves down rather than getting upset. My students will breathe in essential oils to awaken their senses. Research has shown that smelling certain scents can calm, awaken, and heal the mind and body. We have a very hard floor in our classroom, so exercises that need to be done on the floor are quite uncomfortable. It would be so nice to have mats for them to put down so their little backs do not get hurt. The mats are also much more clean than the floor we step on.
