One of my goals as a teacher is to cultivate a love for reading. When we are able to comprehend text, we are able to explore an endless amount of subjects. Traditional printed books can be a challenge for many students. When students are given alternate avenues to explore print, their comprehension and love for reading soars. The daily use of headphones in our classroom will enrich student learning immensely. Students will be able to listen and follow along to complex texts at their own pace, they will be able to listen to explanations of concepts for our math program and they will be able to choose audio books to listen to that spark their interest, which will increase listening comprehension. These headphones will provide a focused and calm environment for academic success since outside noise will be eliminated. We are so excited for the possible opportunity!
