Encouraging a love of reading is something I really focus on. I could be biased, but I feel that reading is just as important for academics as it is for entertainment. The best way to escape is through a good book. I want my students to get lost in the magic of a good book. I want to help them explore topics and subjects they love. I want them to be able to find a character they can connect with and identify with. In order to do this however, we need books and ways to make them easily accessible. Being a second year teacher, I do not have many books to provide to my students. I buy books on sale when I can and have been blessed with some donations from other teachers, but I would like to provide newer more relevant titles for my students. I would also like to organize them in a way that they can see exactly what I have and explore the types of genres they may be interested in.
