My situation is unique. We are the only public school offering Montessori at no cost to our parents. We have a total of 156 students currently in our program. We are departmentalized. I teach science to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students simultaneously. I teach a total of 77 students throughout the day. My partner science teacher teaches 79 students. We are in a rural county and funds are not available for many of the supplies we often need. Our middle school program is in its' fifth year and we are able to add a little more to our supplies each year. However, between the two science teachers we share three calculators. It is very difficult to perform our science experiments and collect and analyze our data.
