Students are given an opportunity to sit where they would like in my classroom. Some students prefer seats, some prefer to lay on the floor and others somewhere in between. Providing the trattoria stool seating allows students more choice in comfort when they are reading. In order for students to have this flexibility, we need to keep an organized and tidy room. The rolling storage carts will be used to house center materials for English Language Arts and Math that students use on a daily basis. This frees up other areas in our classroom. That means their materials that are classroom ones need places to be stored efficiently and effectively for ease of use without being all over our classroom. 1st graders are just beginning to understand organization and how it helps them to learn and complete tasks efficiently, therefore having the organizational materials will allow them to better grasp how knowing where to put and get materials from, helps them to get to work faster, stay on task longer, and be able to clean up quicker. The Stack On Cabinets will house extra essentials: erasers, pencils, markers, crayons, scissors that quickly get lost by students when they fall on the floor or are shoved in desks, or need to be replenished often. Books are an essential part of our classroom and need a place to be neatly kept so that students can find their books and return ones they are done with quickly and efficiently. We need shelving to house our books and would utilize the adjustable bookcase for this purpose. So book shelves continue to provide the organization that is necessary in our classroom to be productive and organized each and every day.
