Kindergarteners are excited and ready to learn. We can't wait to give them the opportunity to see (and even touch!) wild animals up close with the incredible team from Zoo To You. This grant would make it possible for all 170 kindergarten and TK students at our school to have this incredible experience to learn the Next Generation Science Standards about animals needs and taking care of our earth through a real-life memorable experience. The standards we would address are: K-LS1-1. Use observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive. K-ESS2-2. Construct an argument supported by evidence for how plants and animals (including humans) can change the environment to meet their needs. K-ESS3-3. Communicate solutions that will reduce the impact of humans on the land, water, air, and/or other living things in the local environment Zoo to You educates students in an engaging way and brings many different animals (who have been rescued) to each assembly. Some of the animals their handlers bring are: lemurs, owls, otters, crocodiles, mountain lions and more! The more that younger students are exposed to different experiences the better they fair in all academic areas. Thank you for enriching the lives our students!
