My kids have big hearts, bigger imaginations and are ready to learn. A lack of supplies hinders us but does not stop us. We are a small school of 450 students with grades 7-12. The students here rarely leave their area because a lack of transportation. They are missing out on the world. I like to think I can bring a little in with me every day to the classroom. The saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child." I have the village with many wonderful community resources. However, I have more than one child, I have 60! They are willing to learn and explore new things, however,our funds are limited, much like many other schools. The students receiving free/reduced lunch is over 85%. I want to have a chance to educate my students by using a wonderful book to inspire them and give them new perspective on owning and running their own business.
