I realize that as a teacher I'm always trying new strategies and adjusting my curriculum to meet the needs of my children, and one area that I really want to focus on is creating a more accommodating learning environment. They have individual needs and learning styles and I feel it is important to meet those needs by allowing them to choose their place in the classroom. While watching my children squirm in their chairs and sprawl all over the floor, it had me realizing that I was not giving them the opportunity for comfort and choice in their seating. I am asking for furnishings that will help create a learning environment that will be comfortable for all. For many years I've been teaching in a classroom with traditional desks and chairs so changing to a flexible layout will be very rewarding. With this project, I want to start the process of converting my classroom so that each student will be able to find their best seating option for success. I'm asking for various furniture items to get me started. This will consist of chairs, stools, a high table, floor lights, and rugs. Overall, I hope to create an atmosphere that allows them to not only be comfortable but stay motivated and engaged while in my care. This will increase their work performance, therefore bringing out the best learner they can be. Thank you for your consideration and support.
