My students come to school full of energy and excited to learn! Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, students do too! They need more flexible/comfortable seating options to enhance student engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. A rectangular table that is low to the floor will be used with the comfy cushions or students have the option to kneel at the table. The wobbly chairs will allow students to move and wiggle for those that have trouble sitting still. This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
