My students work hard all year to fill in the gaps that are created for them each and every day. These students come from low income homes, with our school being 100% free lunch and breakfast. Many of the students come from many different minority background, with majority of the students being African American and Hispanic. Language can also be a challenge for the students, where our students speak another language as their home language. Through all these challenges, my students push to be the best they can be on a daily basis. They have hopes and dreams. They have goals and aspirations. They want to achieve and do the best that they can. Students in my school want to be doctors, or lawyers, or teachers. They want to help others, and they want to make lasting relationships with their teachers and peers. These students strive to push the limit and achieve, even though odds may sometimes be against them.
