Middle school students at my school are highly motivated by chemistry and would like to be able to participate in chemistry labs that are both fun and thought provoking. Chemistry labs require special equipment to be able to run the labs smoothly and safely. Being a newly opened school we are still gathering the appropriate materials to be able to provide many of these experiences to our students. This project seeks to fill a void in our lab equipment that would make it possible to run chemistry labs in a fun, efficient, and safe manner. The materials requested by this project will be used both to run lab experiments (test tube racks, spot plates, spatulas, dropper bottles, etc.) as well as to maintain a safe lab environment (glassware detergent, wash bottles, lab coat, etc.) Providing students with the opportunity to explore through hands-on experiences is one of the best ways to get them interested in science. By supporting this project you will be providing these students with the opportunity to experience chemistry through hands-on learning experiences, which may ultimately lead them to a career path in science.
