My students carry the burden of situations they can not possibly control or fix. They take on responsibilities beyond their years, bringing them to school each day. My goal as a teacher is to let my kids be kids. I want them to explore, discover, and find their unique passion for learning. I can't shelter them from what they see once they leave the classroom, but, I can give them space where they are safe, encouraged, and are given every opportunity to become lifelong learners.
