My third grade classroom is moving into the differentiated learning era. In doing so, my students choose how they learn, where they sit, and who they work with. My students love this new way of learning. My students have said, "I love getting to work at my own pace." "I like sitting on the bean bags to read." "I get to use to computers every day." Through differentiated learning, my students are getting to do more projects, move around the room, and apply what they are learning in a real world situation. While moving around our room, students get to choose where they sit. Some students like to move when they learn, so they would use a ball to bounce on. Some students like to sit on something soft, so these students would sit on a bean bag while working. Some students enjoy sitting taller, these students work at raised desks on stools. Other students enjoy sitting on the floor. To work in a small group on the floor students need a designated space. This is when we would work on the rug. Sometimes we read stories in small groups on the floor, we would use the rug for this as well. All of these seating options will add color and cheer to our classroom. We try and make our classroom as bright and cheerful as possible to create a happy and positive learning environment. Please help us make our classroom more warm and welcoming. Thank you very much!
