The need for this project will help me use technology to pace my lessons for students’ individual learning levels. Since students learn in different ways and at different speeds, using technology available with the Chromebooks will be beneficial in all subjects by giving the students opportunities to apply the skills that they have learned. The goal of this project is to reach all levels of learners with the lessons that I teach by incorporating different programs that can be used to reiterate the skills that are being taught in my daily lessons. Since differentiated instruction is very important to me, and Chromebooks help to give remediation after initial instruction for those students who need extra support and offer extra activities for those who need to be challenged. These Chromebooks can be used to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities by allowing hands-on, real time involvement with programs that are aligned to the 2nd grade curriculum. I am excited about the cross curricular elements of this project that will benefit my students include the capability of researching topics, collaborating with other students, and using virtual field trips as a fun hands-on opportunity to incorporate real life experiences with the topics that we are learning in class.
