Once my project is funded, my students will have the necessary supplies to learn in a clean environment. Since I teach in a high poverty area, my students rarely come to school with basic supplies such as pencils and erasers. I am constantly supplying them with these items. We also use dry erase markers on a regular basis for instruction. Their desks are rarely cleaned by our custodial staff and are dirty with the constant use of the markers and just everyday activities. Having these materials will allow the students access to the supplies they need to be successful in a clean environment. The availability of pencils permit my students to be prepared and ready to learn. When the students use the dry erase boards and markers, it allows me as the teacher to assess quickly and effectively and adjust my teaching if necessary.
