I teach in a title one school in Baltimore City. My students have limited access to technology and supplies. These laptops would provide my students with the tools they need to succeed. They find technology to be engaging and exciting. This would help my students to become even more excited about learning and motivate them to reach the next level. As students with disabilities they need interactive activities to engage them in the content being taught. It helps them focus and concentrate on their literacy skills. Fluency and decoding skills are areas of struggle. Having computer programs in these areas of focus would be beneficial. My students also struggle with basic math fact fluency. Math applications and programs would make working on basic facts more attractive to my students. Their writing and typing skills would also benefit from more exposure to working with computers.
