I would love to be able to provide my students with basic supplies they need. This not only will help them focus in class, but also make them feel special by having their own materials and not having to stress about not having them. My freshmen are already adjusting to high school and some need more encouraging than others. Kids need an adult to trust and being able to provide for them will make them sense that I want them here, in turn, making them feel that they want to be here too. Kids are too young to feel stress from not having basic necessities. I have requested basic school supplies for my classroom. I have many students ask to borrow pencils daily. I usually have a few to loan out but would love to have mechanical pencils for them to use instead of wooden ones. I would also love to have a good pencil sharpener in my classroom. The pencil sharpener currently in my classroom tends to eat the pencils when it's used. They also need notebook and graph paper very often. I want to make sure I'm always able to provide this for them. My school is a Title I school and provides students with free breakfast but I often have students who get hungry throughout the day. By having snacks on hand, I would love to be able to share them with the students.
