The new color theme for our school is softer and more calming for students and teachers. I would love to have a new Lakeshore carpet in calming colors with 30 squares for my classroom. Next school year will be the first time in 20 years that the class size will increase to 28 students. While flexible seating is encouraged, it's also important for my 5 year olds to have a special place of their own on the rug. A good portion of the day is spent on the rug during shared reading, writing, calendar time and read alouds. This will improve both their behavior and learning. The calming colors pillows will make it comfortable for them to lay on the carpet and read.
