I have a wonderful class of very energetic and curious first graders. They are a super sweet group of kids but many are struggling academically. Our school is a low income Title 1 school and many of my students this year are extremely low income. Most of my students' parents are working two or three jobs to afford family necessities. This workload is not allowing them to be at home to help their sons/daughters with homework so my instruction is often the only academic help they are getting. Also, because funds are already so tight in most of my students' homes, many parents were unable to provide school supplies at the beginning of the year. Any contributions you offer are greatly appreciated and I can't think of a more deserving group of kids than my class this year.
